The McHenrys are stepping into a New Season — And an Invitation.

We want to share something important with you.

Over the last twenty years, by God’s grace, he has allowed us to raise our children, serve the local church, build businesses, lead teams, and serve in meaningful ways. We are deeply grateful for every season. But over the past few years, the Lord has been stirring something new in our hearts — a growing conviction about the next generation and the spiritual formation happening (or not happening) in the home.

We have come to believe that our mission field is the family, the next generation, and that biblical formation must be restored in the home. We sense a call as missionaries to the family.

Parents are the number one spiritual influence in their children’s lives. Yet most feel unequipped, overwhelmed, or unsure how to lead. Biblical literacy is declining, even in Christian families. Discipleship is often outsourced instead of lived out around the table, on the couch, and in everyday moments.

Three years ago, I quietly began researching and building a solution. What started as prayer and study has become Awaken Bible Experience™.

Awaken equips parents to confidently and simply make their home the primary place of spiritual formation by engaging Scripture together in short, repeatable daily moments.

The front door is a parent-first Bible app designed to help moms and dads lead with confidence—not guilt—and create simple rhythms of faithful Bible engagement that shape their children for a lifetime.

After much prayer, counsel, and confirmation, we believe God is asking us to step fully into this new ministry and work. This is new for us. We have never raised support like this before. But we know God is in it, and He has clearly confirmed that now is the time. We have a model that will create a self-sustaining ministry after our initial launch in 2026.

We are stepping out in faith into this next season to give ourselves fully to building out the beta app and launching Awaken. I’m excited to share that we already have a network of churches waiting to resource their families as beta testers when we complete the beta app build. We anticipate the beta launch in late Summer 2026. We are also so thankful for theologian Dr. Nick Barrett, who has joined this mission.
