Happy New Year! I hope you’re finding yourself and your family in a place of growing affection for Jesus and all that God has for you in this new year.  Over the last two decades, by God’s grace, I have enjoyed launching multiple businesses and the work God has given me. Now, I feel God’s leading to close those chapters and step into something new.  I have a more profound conviction than ever before in fulfilling the purposes of God in our generation.  As I have reflected over the last couple of years, God has graciously made clear a new initiative to steward what I believe will be the best, most impactful, and most fulfilling work I have ever undertaken. 

Quietly, but diligently, I have been working on a project that is now ready for launch to bring a solution to restoring the home as the center of spiritual formation. It is called the Awaken Bible Experience. Biblical literacy is collapsing in the home because parents feel unequipped. The Awaken Bible Experience is a digital expression of the Deuteronomy 6 mandate—restoring the home as the primary place of discipleship. By equipping parents as the God-ordained leaders of their children’s spiritual formation, Awaken fosters daily Scripture engagement through guided journeys and gamified family learning that shape biblical imagination and lifelong faith practices. Every sector of research confirms that parents are the number one influence in their children’s lives.  Parents are the #1 spiritual influence—and they’re asking for help.

The Awaken Bible Experience App is a parent-first approach to restoring biblical literacy in the home.  Reclaiming the home as the center of biblical formation is not just a spiritual imperative—it’s one of the most scalable and sustainable strategies to shape faith for the next generation.

At the heart of this issue lies a disconnect: God’s design for generational faithfulness in passages like Deuteronomy 6 calls parents to teach diligently, daily, and relationally—yet most modern Christian households lack the clarity, tools, or rhythms to live this out.

Biblical literacy is in sharp decline among children raised in Christian homes. Despite widespread access to Scripture, consistent and meaningful engagement with the Bible is lacking in daily family life. 

This has resulted in a growing disconnect between belief and practice, with discipleship increasingly outsourced to churches or schools. PARENTS are the key to the transmission of faithful engagement in the Scriptures and in faith. 

There is an urgent need to re-center the home as the primary place of faith development.

So, what is the problem?

Despite being called by Scripture to lead their children spiritually, most Christian parents feel unequipped, unsupported, and overwhelmed—resulting in a generational decline in biblical literacy, even within church-going families.

I am not doing this alone. God has faithfully prepared a team of theologians, innovators, pastors, entrepreneurs, and wise leaders to deliver a world-class app that has the power and potential to change families, communities, churches, and the world.  

Over the last year, God has specifically opened up the door for me to invite a long-time friend, the brilliant theologian, Dr. Nick Barrett, to join this endeavor. He is ecstatic about the opportunity and the need.

I am taking a step of faith and obedience, giving everything I have to this critical work. I am exiting what I’ve known for the last two decades to GO help recover God’s design for spiritual formation in the home.  I need your help to give this effort my full attention.
